Release of IAESC’s 2018-2019 Annual Report
The Indigenous Advanced Education and Skills Council (IAESC) is pleased to present the release of the 2018-19 Annual Report. This report provides an excellent look at our early activities including creating the first phase of our quality assurance framework, strengthening partnerships with Indigenous Institutes and communities, and developing structures, policies, and procedures among other important milestones in our first year of operation.
Over the last year, we’ve heard from Indigenous Institutes, students, and communities who are interested in the delivery of community-driven programs. We’ve worked to bring together Indigenous experts and leaders while operationalizing a robust quality assurance process to support the development of high-quality Indigenous postsecondary education programs.
The Council is now focused on ensuring the right pieces are in place to have Indigenous Institutes’ approved programs ready for students. To accomplish this, IAESC will continue to prioritize engaging students, communities, and supporting Indigenous-centred employment and training opportunities in Indigenous communities.
