Seven Generations staff development in Kenora

Seven Generations Educational Institute held a staff development day in Kenora Oct. 26 and IAESC was asked to make a presentation about its mandate and the quality assurance process for Indigenous Institutes.

IAESC executive director and board chairwoman Laurie Robinson and strategic policy lead Tara Beheshti spoke to the 130 staff gathered at the Manidoo Baawaatig campus.

Among the many questions from Seven Generations staff, the definition of what ‘quality assurance’ was front and centre.

“For the Council and the Indigenous Institutes pillar, quality assurance is an ongoing commitment to achieving confidence (among students, educators and employers) that an Indigenous Institute is delivering quality higher education programming that serves the needs of their students and their communities,” Beheshti said.
